Deutsche Telekom and SoundHound Inc. Form Partnership
SoundHound Inc.’s Houndify Voice AI Platform will enable seamless voice experiences to users of Deutsche Telekom’s growing list of services.
We are pleased to share the news of our strategic partnership with Honda to develop a new voice-enabled AI assistant. Powered by our Houndify platform, users can engage in natural conversations with the assistant using their voice.
To support natural voice interactions, Houndify understands complicated queries and context, such as the user’s location, previous queries, and compound criteria including exclusions. Our Collective AI architecture also allows our partners, like Honda, to have complete control of the user experience and their own innovation, while benefiting from Houndify’s growing developer ecosystem.
Our Houndify Collective AI is a natural fit for companies that aim to provide voice AI to their customers while differentiating, innovating and retaining ownership of their brands. Our partnership with Honda leverages this approach by integrating our voice AI technology to further the driving experience, and maintaining the strong brand presence that they’ve built.
This relationship was nurtured through the Honda Xcelerator, their open innovation program led by Honda Innovations, meant to facilitate collaboration between startups and Honda. Through our work together in the program, it became clear that our strategies are aligned, and that Honda is dedicated to the development of the fastest and most accurate voice AI assistant.
We are proud to be chosen as the solution for Honda’s voice enabled-AI assistant, based on Houndify’s technological differentiators, and we’re looking forward to working together in the years to come.

Voice assistants are increasingly the preferred method for users to search, ask questions, and complete tasks efficiently, quickly, conveniently, and hands-free. In 2020 alone, 45% of internet users searched via voice, according to We Are Social. Even before voice assistants became ubiquitous, the auto industry recognized voice AI as a way to deliver safer, smarter, more natural, and — most importantly — hands-free in-car experiences.
In-car voice assistants have become more than just a way to pull up music and navigation, hands-free. They are becoming the standard for exceptional driving experiences by offering functionalities that are defining the future of the auto industry. As car manufacturers seek to differentiate themselves in a market increasingly saturated with the latest technological advancements, they’ll need to distinguish themselves with voice AI that surpasses user expectations and needs.
